sunrise with lacie

this is what happens when a storm is coming!  the surf gets really big, all the guys (and a few girls) get
really happy (and tired)...and the beach is so beautiful with the big set waves that come
through.  this was just before hurricane sandy swept by our coast~
some of the best surf we've had this year....

and look what the storm brought in!  one of my favorite things to do is shelling.
after the storm, we headed down to the ocean to see what gifts were left behind by
mother nature.  the beach was covered with shells ~
here is a very old whelk that washed up ....i LOVE ~

and this is the very first scotch bonnet i have ever found (whole)
i was so happy to see it there in the broken up shells.....after living here my entire life,
i've never found one whole.  so this is my prize for the day :)

things calm down.  the wind and rain were hard and strong for a couple of days.....
then everything gets back to normal.  this is the lovely view of motts channel at sunset.

before the storm....lacie out on the beach

and now to the barn...me and my boy. (beau)
on a little trail ride loving life.  one of the most peaceful places to be.

a little tiny piece of painted plaster....i love roosters and i love small things.
this is for the upcoming trunk show at SWEET PEPPER horse sports...

and a few jewels added to the collection i've been working on.

driving home at dusk...the creek down from our house had trees on the point full
of nesting birds.  i think they were egrets, but not sure.
the white dots...that's the birds.  but it was truly beautiful seeing them all.
i had to back up and take a picture :)

“Listen to your life. See it for the fathomless mystery it is. In the boredom and pain of it, no less than in the excitement and gladness: touch, taste, smell your way to the holy and hidden heart of it, because in the last analysis all moments are key moments, and life itself is grace.”

  1. I am so glad you all came out okay! I was worried if you had any damage. Glad all is well!

  2. I love your images. You manage to capture a moment fraught with emotion and make it universal. And the rooster rocks!
